Unit Manager - LPN/RN
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced LPN/RN Unit Manager to help lead the nursing team in providing exceptional patient care. The role requires a strong clinical background, leadership skills, a passion for improving patient outcomes, comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, and the ability to manage a diverse team while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The manager mentors nursing staff, works with interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans, monitors care quality, supports staff development, oversees medical documentation, participates in utilization review, and responds to patient concerns.
Requirements
- Robust background in nursing specialties, including long-term care, dialysis, IV infusion, catheterization, phlebotomy, skilled nursing, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
- Supervisory experience within a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, infection control practices, and basic life support.
- Experience with EMR systems, including PCC.
Responsibilities
- Mentor nursing staff and provide guidance and support in clinical practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care quality and implement improvements as needed.
- Facilitate training and development programs for nursing staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and oversee management of medical records.
- Participate in utilization review processes to optimize resource allocation and patient outcomes.
- Address patient concerns and complaints promptly, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
