About The Position

The Unit Manager oversees nursing services for an assigned unit, ensuring high-quality resident care and compliance with regulations and facility policies. The role includes leading and developing nursing staff, coordinating resident care, and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. The Unit Manager is part of Journey’s Care Team, which works to achieve exceptional quality outcomes and meet residents’ and families’ needs.

Requirements

Nursing degree from an accredited institution, college, or university.
Active, unrestricted LPN or RN license in the state of practice; must meet state licensing requirements with no disciplinary actions.
Current CPR certification.
At least two years of direct-care experience in long-term, restorative, or geriatric settings as an LPN or RN.
At least one year of nursing management experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in long-term care is preferred, though the posting also states it is not required.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and direct nursing services for the assigned unit in compliance with regulations and facility policies.
Make staffing assignments and encourage staff professional development.
Review documentation for quality and accuracy.
Oversee resident assessments and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Address resident grievances and report them promptly to the Director of Nursing.
