About The Position

Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Patrol Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for clients. Officers deter incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. The role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The stated schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, with shifts listed as 12:00 AM–6:00 AM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM. The position is full-time, third shift, and includes weekends and summers; travel is not required. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and drug screen. A criminal background check may be required by law because the position supports safety-sensitive licensed private security operations. Paid training is offered at the state minimum wage where allowed by state law. Responsibilities and requirements are not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned based on client or company needs.

Requirements

Have or be able to obtain a valid state security license.
Have a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets company-approved driver standards.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be able to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Have weekend availability.
Demonstrate strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills.
Be able to remain calm and effective in critical situations.
Have basic computer skills and be able to use tablets for reporting.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to stand or sit for at least one hour without a break, walk at least one-half mile without stopping, and climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
At least one year of verifiable military, law enforcement, or security experience.
At least two years of verifiable customer service experience.
Alabama Security Regulatory Board License.

Responsibilities

Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns.
Monitor access points and verify IDs and credentials.
Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to protocol.
Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents.
Perform routine security tasks, such as locking and unlocking doors.
Assist visitors and employees professionally.
Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols.
Ensure compliance with company and client policies, including policies on smoking, loitering, and parking.
