About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver based in Front Royal, Virginia. The driver delivers solo on regional routes through VA, PA, MD, OH, CT, NY, ME, DE, NC, and NJ. The position uses sleeper tractors and dry van or reefer trailers to transport food freight. Freight is no-touch. Trucks are well maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with no weekends, and start times between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Pay is weekly and averages $1,595 or more per week. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days. Paid training is provided. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Undergo any additional screening required for the assigned position, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, and customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
