About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Raleigh, North Carolina. The driver delivers solo on regional routes to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The position uses sleeper tractors and dry van or reefer trailers to transport food freight. Freight is no-touch. Ryder trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with start times between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.; the posting states no weekends. Pay averages $1,595 or more per week and is paid weekly. A sign-on bonus pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days, and paid training is provided. Hazmat endorsement is preferred. The role offers medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, PTO beginning on Day 1, and additional listed benefits.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.
