About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Front Royal, Virginia. This is a regional, solo-driving position delivering no-touch food freight to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Drivers operate a sleeper tractor and haul dry van and reefer trailers. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with no weekends, and a start time between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The position pays weekly and averages $1,595 or more per week, with a sign-on bonus paid in two installments. Paid training is provided. Drivers use well-maintained trucks that are 36 months or newer and have access to 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are responsible for making safety decisions and may have their jobs protected when doing so. Ryder also describes transition support for drivers moving into company-driver roles.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
