About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Front Royal, Virginia. The driver delivers solo on regional routes to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The position uses sleeper tractors and dry van or reefer trailers, hauling food freight with no touch. Ryder trucks are well-maintained and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with no weekends, and a start time between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The position offers weekly pay averaging $1,595 or more, paid training, and a sign-on bonus paid in two installments.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: at least 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
