About The Position

Ryder is hiring a local Class A CDL truck driver in Leesburg, Florida. The role involves solo local shuttle routes and offers home-daily work, Monday through Friday with no weekends, and a 5:00 AM start. Drivers are paid $25.50 per hour, averaging $1,020 per week, for approximately 38–40 hours per week; paid training is provided. The route uses a day-cab tractor and a 48- or 53-foot flatbed trailer. Freight is no-touch, with live loading and unloading. The position requires six months of flatbed experience.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The company describes its drivers as having autonomy to make safety decisions, with support during the transition to company driving and throughout their careers.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Have six months of flatbed experience.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some assignments may require additional employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
