About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Canal Winchester, Ohio. The position pays weekly, with a guaranteed weekly pay of $1,200 and advertised earnings of $1,596 or more per week, and includes paid training. The schedule is Monday through Friday with no weekends, starting at 5:00 AM. Drivers deliver solo to Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, and neighboring states on local routes and return home daily. The tractor is a day cab, and the trailer is a 42- to 45-foot dry van. Freight consists of flooring materials and involves touch handling. Drivers use manual and electric pallet jacks and a lift gate; applicants with an automatic restriction can be accepted.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The role emphasizes driver autonomy and safety decision-making, with company support throughout the driving career.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
