About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This local, solo driving position delivers auto parts to Kentucky and Tennessee and offers daily home time. Drivers operate a day-cab tractor with a 53-foot dry van. Freight is no-touch, and strong backing skills are required. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with flexible AM and PM start times; the posting states that drivers work the PM shift for the first two years, with 11 hours of daily drive time. Pay is weekly and advertised at $1,255 or more per week. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Have strong backing skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
