About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This is a local, home-daily driving position delivering auto parts solo to Kentucky and Tennessee. Freight is no-touch, using a day cab and a 53-foot dry van. Strong backing skills are required. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder also provides company-paid scale bypass. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with flexible AM and PM start times. The position requires working the PM shift for the first two years, with 11 hours of daily drive time. Pay is $1,255 or more per week, paid weekly. Additional compensation may include a $2,000 shutdown bonus in the first year, a $1,000 sign-on bonus at 30 days and another $1,000 at 90 days, and a quarterly safety bonus of $250 if applicable. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Strong backing skills are required.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
