About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. Drivers average $1,500–$1,700 on this account and are paid weekly through mileage-based pay plus stop pay, with layover pay. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Sunday dispatch as needed, primarily with morning dispatch. The position averages 52 or more hours per week and offers a $5,000 loyalty bonus. Routes combine home-daily and regional lanes, and layovers may be required; Ryder books hotels for overnights. Freight is no-touch, using drop-and-hook service. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some assignments may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
