About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Charlotte, North Carolina. This regional solo-driving position delivers packing adhesives to destinations up to 1,500 miles from Danville, Virginia, across the listed states. Drivers operate a sleeper tractor pulling a 48- or 53-foot dry van trailer, with no-touch freight. The schedule is Monday through Sunday, with resets at home, and a dispatch window from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The posting states drivers work 50 or more hours per week and are paid weekly. Compensation includes $0.53 per mile for 2,500–2,800 miles per week, $11.55 per stop for four stops per week, and $25 per diem per night for three nights per week; the posting advertises earnings of $1,700 or more per week. Ryder trucks are 36 months old or newer. Drivers have access to 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel at Ryder maintenance facilities. Paid training is provided. The role includes responsibilities for regulatory compliance, safety, maintaining records and logs, and loading or unloading freight if required by the customer.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these alternatives: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
