Truck Driver CDL A No Touch
About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. The role averages $1,500–$1,700 per week on this account, with weekly pay based on mileage and stops, plus layover pay. Drivers work 52 or more hours per week on a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional Sunday dispatch as needed, and primarily morning dispatch times. Routes combine home-daily and regional lanes; layovers may be required, and Ryder books hotel stays for overnights. Drivers operate sleeper and day-cab tractors with 53-foot dry van trailers. Freight is no-touch and handled through drop-and-hook operations. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and perform the assigned driving and freight-related duties. A $5,000 loyalty bonus is offered, subject to the applicable program terms.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
- Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
- Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
