About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. This regional driving position delivers solo to Wisconsin and Minnesota, operating a sleeper tractor with a 53-foot dry van and transporting internet and cable supplies. Freight is described as no-touch. Drivers earn $27.47 per hour, receive $50 per diem per night for two nights per week, and work approximately 45–55 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 6:00 a.m. start, and paid training is provided. Drivers earn $950 or more weekly.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, with job protection for those decisions. The role also includes company support during the transition from owner-operator work and throughout a driver's career.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: at least 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
