About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Erlanger, Kentucky. The position pays $30 per hour, with approximately 50 hours per week and weekly pay of $1,685 or more. Paid training is provided. The operation runs seven days a week, with two days off per week and AM/PM dispatch. The route is a home-daily/regional mix, with one overnight per week in a Ryder-paid hotel and a $35 per diem. Drivers operate a day cab with a 53-foot dry van hauling candy and gum; freight is no-touch. Trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
