About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Kapolei, Hawaii. The role pays $23 per hour, with weekly pay of approximately $920 for 40 or more hours per week, and includes paid training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed, and a 7:00 a.m. start time.

The driver shuttles equipment between Ryder customer facilities, transfers rental equipment, delivers trucks and parts to customers, and picks up parts. Freight is no-touch and consists of empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement. Vehicles transferred may include straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, and cabovers, depending on operational needs. Drivers use well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The position is primarily responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations, while completing continuous training and providing customer service. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions. Additional duties include following applicable laws and regulations, identifying and minimizing safety hazards, maintaining accurate records and logs, and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities
