About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Transfer Driver in Austin, Texas. This local, no-touch role shuttles empty trailers and other equipment between Ryder customer facilities. Drivers are home daily and work Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay is $21.00 per hour, with advertised weekly pay of $840. Drivers are responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations, completing ongoing training, and providing customer service.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle checks, and a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety and DOT regulations.
• Shuttle equipment, including empty trailers, between Ryder customer facilities.
• Complete continuous training and provide customer service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
