Local Truck Driver CDL A No Touch
About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Normal, Illinois. This local, home-daily position shuttles auto-parts freight between facilities. Drivers work solo and handle no-touch freight using a day-cab tractor and a 48- or 53-foot dry-van trailer. Trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The position pays $29 per hour, with 50 or more hours per week and weekly pay. The posting advertises earnings of $1,800 or more per week, a quarterly safety bonus of $250, and a sign-on bonus of $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend work during peak periods, and a 6:00 a.m. start time. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol information from previous employers for the last three years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: at least 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
- Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Responsibilities
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
