About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Forney, Texas. The driver operates solo, delivering tires in a dry van with swing doors. Freight is no-touch, though loading or unloading freight may be required if requested by the customer. The position uses 2021–2022 sleeper cab automatic tractors. Drivers are paid weekly at $25.00 per hour, with average weekly pay stated as $1,529. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 6:00 a.m. start time that can vary based on customer needs, and one to two layovers per week. Paid training is provided. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
