About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Zeeland, Michigan. This local driving role delivers auto parts and offers home-daily routes. Drivers operate solo using a day cab or 26-foot box truck, with a 53-foot dry van trailer, and use an electric pallet jack. The work involves heavy freight handling. Drivers earn $27.81 per hour, with a guaranteed 45 hours per week and weekly pay of $1,320 or more. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with some required Friday overtime. Start times are 5:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.; flexibility is required to cover additional routes.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have a Class A CDL and verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

• Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
