About The Position

R+L Carriers is hiring full-time CDL-A City P&D Drivers at its Syracuse, New York Service Center. The role pays $33.75 per hour, offers Monday–Friday work with various shifts, and drivers return to the terminal daily and are home every day.

City P&D Drivers deliver and pick up freight throughout the city, making multiple stops per workday. The job involves using scanning equipment, working directly with customers, and completing potential liftgate deliveries using an electric pallet jack. Available PTO may be used immediately upon hire.

Requirements

• Hold a CDL Class A.
• Have one year of combined, verifiable Class A driving experience within the past three years.
• Have a good driving record/MVR and PSP, with no commercial serious violations and no more than three moving violations total within the past three years.
• Be at least 23 years old, or 21 if FMCSA specifications for transitioning from military to civilian CDL have been successfully met.
• Pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Complete a successful road test.
• Be able to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Be dependable.

Nice To Haves

• Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Haz-mat CDL endorsements.
• Experience hauling Haz-mat.
• Local delivery experience.
• LTL experience.
• Electric pallet jack experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight in the city, returning to the terminal daily.
• Make multiple stops during each workday.
• Use scanning equipment.
• Work directly with customers.
• Complete potential liftgate deliveries using an electric pallet jack.
• Operate equipment safely at all times.
