About The Position

The Traveling Executive Director of Operations temporarily manages an assigned assisted living community while permanent leadership is identified and put in place. Assignments average 60 to 120 days and are based on community needs. The position involves 100% travel to Benchmark Senior Living communities, primarily in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, as well as one community in Virginia. The role oversees the community’s budget and occupancy goals, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and drives overall customer service. It calls for someone able to build, stabilize, and manage a loyal team while adapting to new assignments every few months.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Five or more years of operations management in senior care preferred.
Experience in a managerial role responsible for multiple disciplines.
Budgeting and staffing experience.
Proficiency with Windows applications such as Excel and Outlook.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Driven, dedicated, goal-oriented, and strong emotional intelligence.

Nice To Haves

A degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospitality Management, or Business is preferred.
Five or more years of operations management in senior care is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review bills and statements.
Analyze revenue projections and make adjustments when revenue sources decrease.
Manage the Sales Director.
Network with outside referral sources, such as hospital and rehabilitation personnel.
Qualify prospects financially using credit reports, bank statements, and other relevant information.
Review occupancy in relation to staffing.
Assist with hiring and recruitment processes.
Handle resident and family grievances.
Manage an assigned assisted living community’s budget and occupancy goals, maintain appropriate staffing levels, and drive customer service during temporary leadership assignments.
