Travel Registered Nurse, RN, Labor & Delivery
About The Position
FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, providing travel RNs for short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. This Labor & Delivery position offers regional and nationwide opportunities, with flexibility to travel locally or nationally and work in a variety of practice settings. Nurses may be assigned to fill critical positions arising from unforeseen circumstances or extended leaves of absence. The RN must be qualified and willing to float throughout a hospital, multiple hospital locations, or regions. The role involves applying professional nursing practice, working independently within the nurse’s license and experience, retaining accountability for delegation and decisions, and collaborating to support quality improvement. The nurse is also expected to adapt to new responsibilities and ideas, work with cultural differences, and manage competing priorities.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state or states of practice or employment.
- At least two years of recent clinical experience for Labor & Delivery and other listed specialties outside Med Surg, Tele, and PCU.
- Maintain the credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions as required.
- Apply the standard elements of professional nursing practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Act independently and appropriately within the scope of licensure, knowledge, and experience.
- Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
- Adapt to new and additional responsibilities and manage competing priorities.
