About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, offering travel registered nurses short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. The Labor & Delivery RN may work in nationwide or regional opportunities and must be willing to float across the hospital, multiple hospital locations, or regions. The role requires independent nursing practice within the nurse’s license, scope of knowledge, and experience, while retaining accountability for delegation, decisions, and outcomes. The RN collaborates with stakeholders, contributes to quality improvement, adapts to new responsibilities and ideas, and manages competing priorities while embracing cultural differences.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
At least two years of recent clinical experience for Maternal Services and other listed specialties, including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Emergency Department, and Behavioral Health.
Maintain credentials required for the specialty area (for example, ACLS or TNCC).
BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations or regions as needed.
Apply the standard elements of professional nursing practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Practice independently and appropriately within licensure, knowledge, and experience.
Remain accountable for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
Adapt to new and additional responsibilities and manage competing priorities.
Embrace new ideas and cultural differences.
