About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in an Outpatient setting at Saint Helena, California. The role is within a Short Term Acute Care facility, focusing on outpatient surgery and endoscopy procedures. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/21/2026, and guarantees 40 hours per week. The shift is a 4x10 day shift schedule. The nurse will support a fast-paced outpatient environment, handling perioperative responsibilities and endoscopy procedures.

Requirements

CA Registered Nurse license required
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required (AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS)
Endoscopy experience required
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in outpatient or perioperative care
EPIC experience required
Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient surgery and endoscopy environment; day shift with a 4x10 schedule

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Deliver coordinated nursing care for outpatient surgical and endoscopy patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
Collect relevant data, analyze assessment findings, and develop a plan of care; implement the plan and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate appropriately and ensure safe, efficient care delivery.
Manage perioperative workflows, including pre-op and PACU Phase II, and support fast patient turnover in a high-volume outpatient setting.
Provide patient and family education, participate in discharge planning, and ensure clear communication with treating teams; document care in EPIC as required.
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical services, and other disciplines to promote a safe and healing environment; address open heart and total joint patient considerations as applicable.
