About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in an Outpatient setting at a short-term acute care hospital in Saint Helena, CA. The role involves a combination of outpatient surgery and perioperative care, including endoscopy workflows and phase II PACU responsibilities. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a shift of 4x10-hour days, typically from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Weekly pay ranges from $2,450 to $2,470 with guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS – Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS – Required
  • At least two years of recent experience in the field
  • Outpatient surgery/perioperative experience strongly preferred
  • Endoscopy experience
  • Comfort with pre-op and PACU phase II workflows
  • EPIC experience recommended
  • Current nursing license
  • Ability to work in the listed setting (outpatient/perioperative care)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for outpatient surgical and perioperative patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
  • Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient flow.
  • Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and PACU phase II workflows; participate in moderate sedation as appropriate and within policy.
  • Monitor patients, document assessment data in the electronic health record, and respond to changes in patient condition with critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the care team; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and appropriate education.
  • Maintain a safe, healing environment; delegate tasks appropriately and support team members in delivering high-quality care.
