About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in an Outpatient setting within a Short Term Acute Care Hospital located in State College, Pennsylvania. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026. The role involves performing comprehensive nursing assessments, implementing care plans, administering medications, monitoring patients, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires proficiency in electronic health records and nursing documentation.

Requirements

  • Active RN license to practice in Pennsylvania
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience in outpatient, perioperative, or acute care settings
  • ASN or BSN degree (BSN preferred)
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts Mon–Fri with start times between 0600–0700; able to meet start date and credentialing requirements
  • Proficient in electronic health records and nursing documentation

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and advocate for the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients in the outpatient/perioperative setting.
  • Implement nursing care plans, administer medications, monitor vitals, and manage IV therapy within scope of practice.
  • Transcribe and execute physicians’ orders accurately; document in the electronic health record; ensure proper site marking and consent processes for procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to patient status in the recovery/ PACU area; maintain airway, monitor vital signs, assess pain, and coordinate transfers as needed.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and maintain smooth patient flow across departments.
  • Provide patient and family education and participate in quality improvement activities and committee-related tasks as assigned.
