About The Position

Registered Nurse – Oncology, in a travel Temporary Assignment based in Cumming, GA. This 16-week assignment begins on 09/14/2026. Weekly pay ranges from $1,642 to $1,699, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shifts are 12-hour Nights on a 12x3 rotation, typically 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, in a hospital-based oncology medical-surgical unit. This role requires recent oncology Med/Surg experience and is subject to location-specific scheduling demands and holiday coverage. There is a candidate geographic restriction for this posting: no local candidates within 50 miles of the posting location.

Requirements

  • Active registered nurse license in Georgia (or current eligibility to practice in the U.S.)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant Oncology Med/Surg RN experience
  • Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certificate
  • Education: Nursing degree (Associate or Bachelor’s)
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 12x3 rotation and meet scheduling needs including major and minor holidays
  • Must meet the posting’s geographic requirement: no local candidates within 50 miles

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to oncology inpatients on a medical-surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions; manage infusion therapies as appropriate for oncology patients
  • Perform ongoing neurologic and general assessments, utilizing NIHSS as required, and escalate changes in patient status per protocol
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and coordinate treatments
  • Document nursing care accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure timely and complete charting of treatments, responses, and outcomes
  • Respond to clinical alarms and emergencies, adhering to AHA BLS and ACLS protocols
  • Ensure safe patient handling, infection prevention, and quality-of-care standards; provide patient and family education
