About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology, located in Penn Yan, NY. The assignment is on a hospital-based acute medical-surgical unit equipped with telemetry capabilities. The role is a temporary travel assignment.
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience with telemetry monitoring on a Med/Surg unit
- Ability to work a rotating 3x12 schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable providing care in a hospital acute care setting
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on an acute medical-surgical unit, including patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Assess needs, develop an individualized plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate patient progress in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Administer medications and therapies, monitor responses, and ensure safe and accurate documentation
- Educate patients and families to support self-care after discharge and promote ongoing health and healing
- Participate in rounds, coordinate with physicians, case management, and other disciplines; identify opportunities for quality improvement
- Support and educate colleagues, delegate tasks appropriately, and uphold infection prevention and patient safety standards
