About The Position

This travel RN position focuses on oncology within a medical‑surgical patient care environment. The assignment is planned for approximately 22 weeks starting late September 2026, with a rotating day/night schedule. The role emphasizes high‑quality nursing care, patient and family education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support healing and self‑care after discharge.

Requirements

Current New York State RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
Ability to work a rotating 3x12 shift, including day and night coverage and holidays
Demonstrated ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team and adapt to a fast‑paced inpatient setting

Nice To Haves

Experience with telemetry/cardiac monitoring is preferred

Responsibilities

Assess patient needs, develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the care team, and adjust the plan as conditions change
Deliver direct nursing care on a med/surg unit with telemetry monitoring, including medication administration and IV therapy
Monitor patient progress, document findings, and participate in rounds and care coordination with physicians and other team members
Provide clear patient and family education to support self‑care, discharge planning, and recognition of symptoms that require follow‑up
Promote a healing environment by ensuring infection prevention, safety, and comfort, while advocating for patient rights and preferences
