About The Position

This is a travel assignment for an Oncology Registered Nurse in Berlin, VT, focusing on outpatient infusion therapy within a hospital environment. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/07/2026, with a shift of 8-hour days, totaling 40 hours per week. It requires inpatient/outpatient infusion experience and proficiency in EMR charting. The role involves administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, monitoring patients, providing education, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in good standing; eligibility to practice in Vermont (or as required for the assignment)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Chemo and biotherapy certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; minimum 2 years in the oncology/infusion specialty
  • Outpatient infusion/oncology clinic experience required; trained in administering chemotherapy in a clinic setting
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
  • Ability to work 8-hour day shifts; comfortable in a high-acuity infusion environment
  • Reliable transportation recommended due to location and scheduling considerations

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV in the outpatient infusion setting, following evidence-based protocols and physician orders
  • Monitor patients during infusions, assess for adverse reactions, manage side effects, and respond to emergencies per clinical guidelines
  • Administer premedications, monitor vital signs, perform frequent assessments, and document infusion details in the EMR
  • Provide patient and family education on infusion therapy, potential side effects, and self-care instructions
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR, verify orders, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary infusion team
  • Maintain strict infection control and safe handling of cytotoxic medications; uphold sterile technique and safety standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and nursing staff to coordinate care and ensure a high standard of patient safety
