About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse – Oncology position in Cumming, GA, US. The assignment is for 13 weeks with guaranteed hours, starting on 08/24/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care to oncology inpatients on an acute-care medical-surgical unit. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, administering medications, performing assessments, managing symptoms, coordinating care, maintaining documentation, adhering to guidelines, and supporting discharge planning and patient education. The nurse will also complete NIHSS assessments as indicated and maintain certification per scope of practice. This is a temporary assignment on an inpatient oncology medical-surgical service within a hospital context. Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing experience
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
NIHSS certification on or above required level
Ability to work night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 12-hour schedule
Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week
Ability to work in an inpatient acute-care setting and meet holiday coverage requirements

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to oncology inpatients on an acute-care med/surg unit
Monitor patient status, administer medications and infusions, and respond to clinical changes
Perform comprehensive assessments, manage symptoms, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure effective handoffs between shifts
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality guidelines; support discharge planning and patient education
Complete NIHSS assessments as indicated and maintain certification per scope of practice
