About The Position
This is a travel opportunity for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at a Critical Access Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 08/28/2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, managing emergencies, collaborating with a healthcare team, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. Requirements
- Current Iowa RN license (active)
- BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to meet pre-employment health, credentialing, and compliance requirements (immunizations, background checks, drug screen, licensure verification, and related items) prior to start
Nice To Haves
- ER or travel nursing experience a plus
- Experience preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs
- Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards
- Monitor, reassess, and respond to ER emergencies; administer medications and treatments; document and communicate patient status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensure patient safety, and maintain orderly patient flow
- Maintain accurate, complete electronic medical records; adhere to infection control, privacy, and safety policies
- Advocate for patients and families during acute events and support timely discharge planning and education
