About The Position

This is a travel opportunity for a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department (ED) within a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting located in Olathe, KS. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 08/30/2026, with a shift of three 12-hour nights per week. The ED is a 29-bed unit that serves the southern half of Johnson County and operates as a chest pain and primary stroke center.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Kansas or multi-state license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and Conscious Sedation Competency
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience within the last 12 months; 2 years preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; weekend night coverage may be required up to 3 nights per pay period
• Eligibility to work in a high-volume ED and capacity to manage inpatient boarders as needed

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to ED patients, including initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and autonomic support; manage monitoring equipment and telemetry.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care, disposition, and patient flow.
• Respond to emergencies, manage high-acuity presentations (e.g., chest pain, stroke), and assist with procedures as needed.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record with accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
