About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for the Emergency Department in Utica, New York. The assignment is approximately 13 weeks long, with a start date of 09/14/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care in a 64-bed Emergency Department, including triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The position offers guaranteed hours and competitive weekly pay.

Requirements

Active NY RN license
Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; TNCC must be in hand
ED experience: 2+ years with pediatric exposure; travel experience required
EMR: EPIC experience
Licensure verification: NURSYS verification of active NY license and all RN licenses; RTO must be included at submission; driver’s license with address matching demographics
Ability to work in a high-volume ED; float as needed; charge capability preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department for newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, including triage, assessment, stabilization, and disposition.
Administer medications, monitor responses, manage acuity, and support pain control and symptom management; operate department equipment as indicated (e.g., Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun when applicable).
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members; participate in resuscitation and code events; contribute to discharge planning and patient-family education.
Document all care in the EMR (EPIC) with accurate, timely charting; ensure regulatory and infection-control practices are followed.
Provide turnover and handoffs to oncoming staff; float to approved ED areas as needed; support charge capability when available.
