About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at a Critical Access Hospital in Hoxie, Kansas. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 10/26/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care in both ER and Med/Surg units, requiring adaptability and a patient-centered approach. The position offers 3x12-hour night shifts.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas
• Current ACLS and TNCC certifications required
• ER and Med/Surg experience; able to work across both units
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a dynamic clinical setting

Nice To Haves

• PALS or ENPC preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ER and Med/Surg units, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and ongoing documentation.
• Administer medications, start and maintain IV therapy, and manage patient safety and pain control.
• Respond to acute changes in patient condition, perform rapid assessments, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient and family education.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with unit protocols and safety standards.
• Adapt to fluctuating patient needs across ER and Med/Surg environments while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care.
