About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) located in Saratoga Springs, NY. The assignment begins on August 31, 2026, and runs in weekly increments. The role involves providing direct patient care to ED patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. The unit is a combined ED serving both adults and pediatrics in a hospital setting, with a daily census of approximately 120 patients and around 36 beds. Orientation for this position is 24 hours. This is a travel-only position, meaning local candidates are not accepted, and travel-qualified applicants from outside the local 50-mile radius are preferred. There are no guaranteed hours, and the contract allows for the cancellation of up to 3 shifts per contract. A valid NY RN license must be in hand at the time of submission, along with required certifications and references.

Requirements

  • NY Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission; active NY license required.
  • Certifications at start: BLS, PALS, NIHSS; ACLS and TNCC strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years in ED specialty required for submission; strong telemetry, rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia management skills.
  • Charting/Clinical systems: EPIC experience required; Med administration via Omnicell experience preferred.
  • Recent Nursys verification.
  • References.
  • Ability to pass a facility rhythm exam (on-site) with high proficiency.
  • Eligibility to work in the ED setting with adult and pediatric patients; ability to float per manager discretion.
  • Complete HealthStream or related mandatory modules by the stated deadline prior to start.
  • Complete required EKG testing within 72 hours of signing and achieve the facility’s rhythm proficiency standards.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of current ED experience preferred.
  • ACLS and TNCC strongly preferred.
  • Med administration via Omnicell experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care for ED patients across neonates through geriatrics, including rapid assessment and ongoing monitoring.
  • Perform triage, administer treatments, and interpret 12-lead ECGs; identify and respond to dysrhythmias.
  • Maintain continuous telemetry monitoring and ensure patient safety during care transitions.
  • Administer medications via Omnicell and document care in the EPIC charting system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Respiratory Therapy, Transport, Unit Secretary, Interpretation services) to coordinate care.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by floating within the hospital as needed and adhering to unit protocols.
