Requirements

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in oncology-related med-surg care on an inpatient unit
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIHSS certification
Ability to work in an acute inpatient oncology setting and adapt to unit workflows
Willingness to travel for a temporary assignment and to meet assignment requirements
Eligible to practice as a registered nurse in the United States (as applicable to the assignment location)

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for adults on an oncology med-surg inpatient unit, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care.
Administer medications, monitor patient responses, manage IV therapies, and address oncologic symptom management (pain, nausea, fatigue) per orders.
Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, labs, and progress notes, using electronic medical record systems.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols; respond to clinical changes and escalate rapidly as needed.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and symptom management; document education provided.
