About The Position

This travel assignment is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology in Geneva, NY. It is a 22-26 week contract starting on 09/08/2026, located in a short-term acute care setting with a med/surg focus that includes oncology patients. The position requires full-time coverage on 3x12-hour flex shifts, with day/night variability and two on-call shifts in a 4-week cycle. Weekly pay ranges from $2,097 to $2,173. This assignment is offered as a travel, temporary position through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Requirements

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse licensure (active)
  • BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg setting
  • Ability to work 3x12-hour shifts with day/night variability and to participate in on-call shifts
  • Must be capable of providing care in a medical-surgical oncology environment and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology diagnoses, within a med/surg unit
  • Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and monitor progress toward established goals
  • Administer medications and treatments per policy; observe for adverse reactions and respond to changes in condition
  • Educate patients and families to support self-care after discharge, document education provided, and arrange appropriate follow-up and resources
  • Ensure infection prevention, patient safety, and high-quality nursing care; maintain accurate and timely documentation; participate in quality improvement activities
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and team members, coordinate care transitions, and provide emotional support within a healing environment
