About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical on a dedicated education unit in Atlanta, Georgia. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/08/2026, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. The role involves providing direct patient care to mixed Med/Surg patients in a hospital setting. The unit is a 30-bed facility with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 5-6:1. No time off requests are permitted during the assignment.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a level 1 trauma or mid-large hospital setting
BLS certification required
Ability to work on a 30-bed Med/Surg unit with an estimated 5–6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
Willingness to work a travel assignment in an acute care setting

Nice To Haves

ACLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to a mixed Med/Surg population on a 30-bed unit
Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform treatments, and implement care plans
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and plan discharges
Maintain patient safety, respond to changes in condition, and participate in rapid response when needed
Educate patients and families as appropriate about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge needs
