About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical unit in Atlanta, Georgia. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/08/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care to adult and older adult patients, including trauma patients, on a 32-bed unit. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, administering medications, documenting care, utilizing unit equipment for patient mobility, and participating in rounds and discharge planning.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in the applicable state
BLS and ACLS certifications
Documented med/surg and telemetry experience in an acute care setting
Ability to work on a 32-bed med/surg unit with adult/older adult population; trauma experience preferred
Must be able to complete unit checklists and comply with unit protocols
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adult and older adult patients on a med/surg unit, including trauma patients
Monitor patient status, interpret assessments, and respond to changes in condition; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Administer medications and interventions as ordered, including heparin drips and other acute medications
Document care, assessments, and outcomes in the patient record using the facility’s electronic systems
Utilize unit equipment (gait belts, geriatric chairs, PT equipment) and support safe patient handling and mobility
Participate in rounds, discharge planning, and patient/family education to support optimal outcomes
