Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical at a short-term acute care hospital in Ukiah, California. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 and lasts for 13 weeks, with opportunities for extension. The role involves providing direct patient care, collecting and analyzing health data, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, monitoring patients, and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team. The nurse will also participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and maintain a safe environment. This position requires working night shifts with 12-hour blocks and participating in weekend rotations.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice)
- BLS/CPR required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required per policy
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in med/surg or acute care
- Ability to work the listed night shift and participate in weekend rotations
- Must be able to work in a hospital setting as a travel nurse and meet onboarding requirements

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group, following standard nursing processes
- Collect and analyze health data, determine diagnoses, develop and implement care plans
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team; supervise and direct activities of nursing staff as assigned
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care; provide education to patients and families
- Maintain a safe, healing environment and document care accurately
