About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Med-Surg unit with a medical stroke focus in Herrin, Illinois. The assignment is for a 13-week duration, starting on 09/14/2026, with a night shift schedule. The role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring patient status, administering medications, performing assessments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Availability to work nights.
- Med-Surg nursing experience and/or stroke unit experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med-Surg patients, including those on the medical stroke unit.
- Monitor patient status, perform clinical assessments, administer medications, and respond to changes in condition.
- Conduct NIHSS assessments as part of stroke care and document findings; collaborate with the broader care team.
- Implement and adjust individualized care plans; perform routine wound, IV, and safety-related tasks; ensure infection control and fall prevention.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the health care team; participate in shift handoffs and accurate charting.
