About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Med-Surg unit in Saratoga Springs, NY. The unit has 20 beds and serves adults and geriatrics. The assignment is temporary, lasting for weeks, with a 3x12 Nights schedule. Orientation is provided for 36 hours. This role is in an inpatient hospital setting and requires floating within the facility as needed. COVID-19 vaccine is not required, and flu vaccine status is unknown. The weekly pay ranges from $2,038 to $2,179.

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Ability to float within the hospital as needed; weekend coverage required
• Relias EKG exam completed within 72 hours after signing (high pass standards)

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric med-surg patients, including assessment, monitoring, and timely escalation of clinical changes.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies, manage IV access, and perform blood product administration as ordered.
• Conduct wound care, wound Vac management, feeding tube care, and stoma care as clinically indicated.
• Support IV management (peripheral and central line care) and participate in phlebotomy; document care accurately in the charting system per unit policy.
• Monitor EKGs where required, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, case managers, rehab), and contribute to care planning and discharge planning.
• Adhere to unit patient ratios (5:1 days, 5:1 nights, 5:1 weekends), participate in on-call and floating as needed, and maintain patient safety and quality standards.
