Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
About The Position
This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Med/Surg assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/07/2026. The role guarantees 36 hours per week, with pay ranging from $1,655 to $1,717 weekly. The shift is a day shift, consisting of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week. The setting is a hospital-based Med/Surg unit with approximately 30 beds, operating as a dedicated education unit. Travel nurses will be responsible for caring for Med/Surg patients and will not be involved in the educational components of the unit. No time off requests are permitted during the assignment.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Georgia.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in a level 1 trauma or mid-to-large hospital setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hospital-based Med/Surg environment on a 30-bed unit.
- No time off requests during the assignment (No RTO) accepted.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care for Med/Surg patients on a 30-bed unit.
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, and document findings in charts.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; verify MARs and best-practice protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans.
- Assist with patient and family education, discharge planning, and safety initiatives.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and adhere to unit standards, including patient-to-nurse ratios such as 5–6:1.
