About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg (Neuro Unit) in Cumming, Georgia. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care to adults in an acute care hospital setting with a focus on neuro-medical surgical care. The nurse will administer medications, manage IV therapy, monitor patient status, document care, and participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.

Requirements

Current Georgia RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in an acute neuro or medical-surgical setting
American Heart Association BLS certification required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on a 2x3 schedule and to perform in a hospital-based, high-acuity setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt to varying schedules and patient needs

Nice To Haves

ACLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to adults in the neuro-medical surgical unit, including neuro checks and serial assessments.
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and assist with procedures per physician orders.
Monitor patient status, identify clinical changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the interdisciplinary team.
Document care in the electronic health record; participate in rounds and care coordination with nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff.
Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals as appropriate.
Maintain safety, infection control, and quality-of-care standards; respond to emergencies and code situations as trained.
