About The Position

This is a 14-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) in Atlanta, GA. The role is based in a hospital setting and involves providing direct patient care on a 10-bed unit. The position requires working night shifts with 12-hour shifts, three nights per week. The nurse will be responsible for admissions, ongoing patient assessments, medication administration, and collaborating with the healthcare team. A fast-paced environment with a patient load of approximately 5:1 is expected. Documentation in the electronic health record is crucial, along with ensuring patient safety and adhering to infection control policies.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license (GA or eligibility for licensure in Georgia)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience
Ability to work night shifts; 12-hour shifts; capable of managing rapid admissions on a 10-bed unit
Experience on a Med/Surg/admission-focused unit with general medical and surgical patients
Documentation requirements: resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; Skills Checklist; References; Certification Card; Nursys license verification

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for general medical and surgical patients on a 10-bed unit, including admissions and rapid turnover.
Monitor patient conditions, perform ongoing assessments, administer medications and therapies, and respond to changes in clinical status.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in care planning and discharge planning.
Document care in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness; ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control policies.
Adapt to a fast-paced environment with a patient load around 5:1 on the Med/Surg unit; communicate clearly with patients and families.
