About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse Med Surg assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. The contract duration is 15 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role involves providing Med/Surg nursing care for adult patients, assessing patients, planning and implementing care, and documenting using the Meditech EMR. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, responding to changes in condition, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting discharge planning. The nurse may also be required to float to related units such as surgical, pediatric, or transitional care. Patient safety and comfort are paramount, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. The role also involves managing wound care needs and utilizing Pyxis for medication dispensing.

Requirements

Active Hawaii RN license by start date
BLS required; ACLS preferred
2+ years of Med/Surg or higher-level care experience
Ability to work in a hospital Med/Surg setting and to float to related units as needed
Eligible to practice in Hawaii; capable of detailed patient assessment and documentation

Responsibilities

Provide Med/Surg nursing care for adult patients aged 18 and older
Assess patients, plan and implement care, document using the Meditech EMR
