About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a high-acuity surgical/trauma Med Surg unit within a hospital in Atlanta, GA. The assignment is for 16 weeks, with a start date of 09/21/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, developing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Accurate documentation in EPIC is required. The typical patient load is around 5:1, managing patients with conditions such as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
BLS required; ACLS preferred; EPIC experience required
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg, surgical, or trauma settings
Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour shifts; willing to work given shifts; no block scheduling and no RTO
Eligible to obtain hospital credentialing and EPIC access as part of onboarding

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients on a high-acuity surgical/trauma unit
Monitor patient conditions, perform ongoing assessments, and administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders
Develop and update individualized care plans; coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
Collaborate with ED and admitting units to complete nurse handoffs and ensure smooth transitions of care
Manage a surgical/trauma patient population (e.g., gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, paraplegia) with a typical patient load around 5:1
Document accurately in EPIC; participate in handoffs, charting, and care coordination; liaise with phlebotomists and the unit secretary as needed at night
